Icy Blue Spirulina Chia Vegan Smoothie
Source: Raise Vegan
Have you found yourself wondering what exactly Spirulina is and why people are going absolutely crazy over it?
Well, here is the answer for you!
According to LiveScience, Spirulina contains significant amounts of calcium, niacin, potassium, magnesium, B vitamins and iron…
It also has essential amino acids (compounds that are the building blocks of proteins)
It’s an organism that grows in both fresh and salt water and is a type of cyanobacteria, which is a family of single-celled microbes that are often referred to as blue-green algae
These things combined with the healthy ingredients in a smoothie bowl really do make for such a healthy meal
Often times these smoothie bowls are low enough in calories to also have something on the side, even for those of us on a very strict diet!
This chia vegan smoothie reminds me of the book “the rainbow fish”
It has little black dots from the seeds that create such an awesome almost scale like look. It’s healthy, delicious, and extremely easy to make
Almond Butter and Spirulina Smoothie Bowl
Source: The Forked Spoon
This recipe was the first time I applied Almond Butter to a smoothie bowl and you butter believe I will be doing it from now on!
It keeps me fuller, energizes me, and adds a sweet buttery taste to a ridiculously healthy smoothie
This recipe reminds me of an acai bowl because of the nuts sprinkled on top, but one with simple enough ingredients that it won’t be difficult to make at home, and won’t cost you a fortune either
How do you even say acai anyway? Tomato tome-ott-oh… either way, this is amazing!

Blueberry Smoothie Bowl

Growing up on a blueberry farm in Michigan was such a beautiful experience
We had so much land allotted and I can still remember playing in acres and acres of land in the sweet Michigan sunshine and munching on blueberries all day long
My parents used to call blueberries the “blues that make you feel good”. Isn’t that adorable?
This blueberry and spirulina smoothie bowl is one of the tastiest recipes I have ever come across, and the color turns out absolutely gorgeous too!
It’s true that adding blueberries to a smoothie or smoothie bowl recipe makes it 10x sweeter, and that’s a lesson I took with me from high school on
This is extremely easy to make with few ingredients needed, filling, and 100% Instagram worthy
Mint Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

I will do battle with anyone who doesn’t believe that mint chocolate chip is the best flavor ice cream ✊
If you’re someone who agrees, this tastes JUST like it in a smoothie bowl form!
Plus, it’s so ridiculously healthy you wouldn’t even know it comes from just a couple frozen bananas, milk, spirulina, mint leaves, and a splash of lime juice
The color turns out that exact mint chocolate green too!

The bright blue color it creates is the prettiest I’ve ever seen, and the sweet ingredients make for a magical sipping experience too
This is made with only a few ingredients including bananas, pineapple, milk, and blue spirulina. That’s it!

Banana Whip
Source: Cocoon Cooks
Me and bananas have had quite a friendship throughout my life
My parents told me that when I was really young I absolutely hated bananas
They gave it a rest for a couple of years but when I was about four years old I remember them telling me “honey, how could you not like bananas? They are always smiling at you!”
I tried them again after that and loved them. Ever since then, I started eating them every day
Then, in college, I learned about the “banana girl”. If you don’t know who she is, her name is Freelee the banana girl (look her up) and all she eats are bananas. She will have 12-15 bananas a day
I wanted to be her and for two weeks I did this. Then I got ice cream and pizza because I realized this was absolutely not sustainable, but hey; two weeks on bananas, obviously I love them.
If you like smoothie bowls that have some banana flavoring to them this is one for you!
Is there any surprise here when I say this is one of my favorite recipes and have one almost weekly? This recipe is extremely healthy and yummy
You’ll love it!

I recommend fresh fruit, granola, and coconut shreds or chips, but the recipe gives a bunch of different options
If you want to start your day off right this is definitely the recipe for you!
