My husband thinks he’s getting fat…
But see, that’s the funny thing about men. He’s been eating like complete and utter well, sh**, for his entire life
Did he not think at some point it would start to catch up to him?
The guy has the nerve to even say he’s getting a “dad bod” the second he’s not perfectly shaped anymore, but trust me, he’s far from fat. I have been watching what I eat since I was 18 years old, and I was one of the luckier women because I know often times it starts way, way, sooner for us
I also started working out heavy at 22, and he goes to the gym and lifts. He never does cardio, never squishes his abs, never does the stairs, etc. It’s just plain not fair and it makes me feel like I’m constantly losing an uphill battle. Does anyone else feel this way?
Since he’s “fat” now, he’s been begging me to make him a smoothie that’s healthy enough, but still full of flavor
Apparently, beggars can actually be choosers because he shuts down everything I make for him, UNTIL THIS!
This Peanut Butter banana smoothie is creamy, extra smooth, and filled with peanut buttery chocolate goodness. With only 6 ingredients, many of which are healthy like greek yogurt, almond milk, cocoa powder, and banana, it’s perfect for a quick indulgent breakfast or when you’re on the go
This makes a HUGE smoothie, so I’ll usually split it with him and then bring a mid-morning snack like some yogurt or fresh fruit to work for before lunch. Healthy food that does NOT taste healthy
Does it get better than that?
Hint: If you have protein powder at home I usually sub out some of the greek yogurt for a protein powder to give the extra health boost, I’ll post the protein powder I use below because it is TO DIE FOR

I’ll be honest, I went a long time without combining peanut butter and berries together in a smoothie…
I think for me I just felt like the flavors would be weird together and clashy. I don’t know, when I picture peanut butter I don’t picture blueberries or strawberries
After seeing so many different recipes I decided to give in and try it, and I found that when done right the taste is really quite good. The trick is to only add a little bit of peanut butter, giving it a small burst of flavor but not overpowering the smoothie with peanut butter because that’s really not the goal here
This recipe is great for a peanut butter beginner who wants to keep the smoothie mostly packed with fruit
She combines banana, frozen berries, milk, and greek yogurt with only a tablespoon of peanut butter. This keeps the calories low, but the flavor still smooth, creamy, and with a decadent peanut butter taste that isn’t overpowering.
The ingredient list and calorie count is low, but the flavor is top notch!
What could be better than that?

If you’ve been following me for a while then you know my seven year old son is kind of a weirdo because he loves smoothies. And not just any kind of smoothie, but only green smoothies
I’ve admitted to myself, and I guess the entire internet now, that I probably have something to do with green smoothie situation
After my daughter was born I was motivated, and I mean, really motivated, to drop the baby weight. I hated the way my body looked, and that little girl really did a number on any abdominal muscles I had left, if any. I went on a full on green smoothie kick because I thought it really doesn’t get any healthier than a bunch of spinach inside my smoothie, right?
My son loved taking sips of my smoothie, and now he will seriously only drink a smoothie if it’s green…
Because of this situation, I have a couple of green smoothie recipe on hand, as well as a consistent amount of green food coloring if need be, yes call me a lying mother if you want or just call me brilliant
This is actually my go to recipe for him because we often times share it (when I’m not having to share with my husband)
Where did the days go of me drinking my own smoothie in the morning? What is with the males in my life?
Anyways, there’s a lot I love about this smoothie, but the best part? The health benefits!
This is dairy free, packed with spinach and protein, and overloaded with peanut buttery and chocolate flavors. I think the trick to this is definitely adding the protein powder
It’s much creamier, and tastier this way, and the calorie count is still extremely low
She uses organic plant-based protein powder in the flavor chocolate fudge, but I’ll post my personal favorite chocolate peanut butter cup protein powder below. I just love the PE science brand because they have the thickest protein powder I’ve ever had which is perfect for smoothie drinking and the hint of peanut butter cup gives the flavor even more of a creamy taste

I do hot yoga with my dad every Wednesday morning. I know, my dad, right
Funny enough he was actually the one who got me into hot yoga. He’s always been a gym goer, and at one point he was actually a “bodybuilder” ?
I’ve learned so much from him, and one of those things is that hot yoga kicks your a**
If you haven’t tried it and you think it might be for you, do it. You will leave the place drenched in sweat
Anyways, I always have a smoothie in hand in the car with him and the other day he asked me “why” I drink them in the morning. I gave him a couple of quick reasons like the “on the go” factor, and the “quick factor” but it’s more than that
The most important reason is the way it makes me feel. I feel like I made a good choice right away in the morning, feel refreshed, and feel healthy
Fruit smoothies also aid digestion and promote weight loss. If you drink smoothies regularly they can also help boost your immune system and help prevent you from catching colds or even the flu. They’re great anytime, the reduce my cravings, they are affordable, etc…
So I think the question is, DAD, why DON’T you?
This is a great example of an on the go smoothie, as well as another example of a smoothie having the perfect amount of fruit and peanut butter so the flavor doesn’t turn out clashy
In this recipe, strawberries give the smoothie fruity freshness while a ripe banana gives it a natural sweetness. I used Laura Scudder’s Nutty all natural peanut butter (my personal favorite) for a perfect smoothie combination
This is the first time I’ve put nutty peanut butter in a smoothie and I’m really not sure why I wasn’t doing it earlier. I love the crunch it gives!
She tops the smoothie with goji berries and bee pollen but that’s really just optional. I didn’t have it on hand and the smoothie still tasted crunchtastic!
If you like peanut butter, crunchy texture, and delicious flavor, you won’t want to miss this!

Okay you guys, I think I may have found the all-time best, peanut butteriest, creamiest, chocolatiest, HEALTHIEST, recipe of all time and it changed my life
This recipe is all that and a bag of peanut butter, seriously… So what’s the secret to this caramel peanut butter smoothie that makes it, unlike all the rest?
SUGAR FREE CARAMEL SYRUP!
I didn’t even know this existed before stumbling upon this recipe and honestly, I now load it on my pancakes, ice cream, french toast, etc
The other secret, because yes there is two. Powdered Peanut Butter
Sometimes I’ll admit you need to use the real thing for creamy and flavor effect and often times substituting can ruin the recipe, but absolutely not in this case
At only 120 calories this is packed with flavor that literally tastes like dessert. I often find myself wondering if I’m adding the ingredients up wrong but trust me, I’ve checked enough, and I’m not. This is seriously that healthy
I love this, my kids, love this, my husband loves this, my parents love this, YOU are going to love this. A must make for sure!

What do you guys think about the keto diet?
Do you or your friends get good results/would you recommend it? I’ve never attempted the keto diet for a couple of different reasons
First of all, I’m Italian. And if you’re reading this, over 50% Italian, and following the keto diet, please comment below and tell me how you get through the Italian carb cravings, which yes, these are different than others we literally grew up on noodles and bread…
And family get togethers with all of the homemade pasta dishes? How do you do it, I need your secrets!
The other reason I don’t follow this diet is that I love fruit. I eat fruit for almost every meal and I know it would be less healthy for me to give it up
Thirdly, I attend a lot of social events and I know I wouldn’t stick to it daily, I also know in order to be in ketosis you MUST stick to it, no cheating allowed
My best friend and her husband are Keto and it works wonders for them! She’s lost almost 20 pounds and her husband is approaching a 40 pound weight loss. I’m not here to tell you it doesn’t work, just that it doesn’t work for me
Just because the keto diet isn’t the strategy for me does absolutely not mean that I don’t indulge in a smoothie like this. This peanut butter keto smoothie is loaded with healthy fats, and my new smoothie obsession, avocado
If you haven’t done it yet, please, try adding avocado to your next smoothie. It’s avadocontrol!
The texture is creamier than adding anything, and I mean anything else to the smoothie, it has hardly any taste, and avocado is loaded with health benefits like the fact that it’s loaded with fiber, and contains more potassium than banana
With less than 350 calories and 5 ingredients, it’s a healthy, quick, and tasty lunch or breakfast and the consistency will remind you almost of a malt
I love it!
Oatmeal Smoothie
Source: Well Plated
This is the smoothie recipe for those of you out there currently suffering from chicken pox. Ha Ha very funny
But really, time oat! Have you guys tried adding oatmeal to your smoothies?
Oatmeal has a ton of health benefits including being rich in antioxidants, being loaded with fiber, and being extremely filling, to help curve those mid day cravings. Plus, if you know how oatmeal works than you know it will thicken your smoothie right up
With its sweet banana base, warm oats and cinnamon, and the decadent taste of peanut butter, this smoothie tastes almost exactly like an oatmeal cookie. And no, I’m not even kidding
In my opinion, this is the perfect fall or winter smoothie because of it’s darker flavors and coloring. I don’t ever drink green smoothies in the fall or winter, it just isn’t something I’m craving and the flavors aren’t in season or fresh
This a great recipe to make for your kids too, because it seriously does taste like dessert. I make a double batch in my Nutribullet and it feeds about three of us, and those are big filling smoothies
You need to try these, the cookie flavor in this smoothie is oat of control!

I loved being pregnant. In both of my pregnancies I didn’t ever get sick, never threw up, and didn’t feel nauseous
I definitely just got up and knocked on about 10 wood items in my home because we are going for a third and I don’t want to jinx it, but yes I know I was very lucky
The hardest about being pregnant for me?
The fact that I had to stop drinking coffee. I’ve been drinking coffee since high school, and in college, the caffeine intake got out of control. I would have a cup in the morning, two cups at work, a monster energy drink at lunch, and THEN, if I was going to be up late doing homework or studying… more coffee
I toned it down after I graduated, but if I’m honest with myself, not by that much. As you can imagine, waking up without coffee was kind of like waking up in the middle of a nightmare every day
I can’t think of combining anything more perfect than coffee and peanut butter. The best drinks from Starbucks or your favorite coffee place do it best, and there’s a reason those drinks are so expensive and sell so well
This smoothie is healthier than your favorite Starbucks drinks, lighter on your stomach, and in my opinion, tastes much better
Frozen banana, peanut butter, 1 tsp of espresso powder, and milk combine to make the perfect drink to energize you without all the sugars of a frappuccino or whatever other drink you spend the booku bucks on
When you wake up feeling a little depesso, have this smoothie with espresso!

What do you guys think of powdered peanut butter?
For me, depending on the smoothie, I don’t taste a difference. The kicker for me is the fact that I like my smoothies creamy so if I have other ingredients that do this like greek yogurt, avocado, or frozen banana, opting out of the regular peanut butter for its healthy substitution is no big deal
If I know I have an indulging weekend ahead and want to save my calories for other treats I’ll do it too. Life is all about sacrifices, right?
My favorite powdered peanut butter is PBfit. I’ve found it to be the flavor closest to peanut butter, and it’s a little thicker when mixed with water than others
This peanut butter powder blueberry smoothie is the bomb dot com. It’s quick and easy, healthy, and the sweetness of the blueberries and vanilla protein powdered paired with the thick greek yogurt and combined with powdered peanut butter and cinnamon make for an all around explosion of yummy flavors
With less than 500 calories and essentially loaded with every type of food group needed for a balanced meal you really can’t go wrong with this one
One of the berry best for sure!
