These are the perfect winter decorations for your little one’s bedroom, and it’s super easy and fun too!
We added glitter when we made our icicles to give them a cute girly touch
Here in Michigan Icicles are still happening in late February, so my kids are excited to take them down March 1st (hopefully) and add some new homemade spring decorations
Folded Paper Sunflower
Source: I Heart Crafty Things
Advice from a sunflower: Be bright, sunny, and positive. Spread seeds of happiness. Rise, shine, and hold your head high
We have this quote painted on Casey’s bedroom wall and it’s something I hope one day she chooses to live by…
This paper sunflower craft was a perfect addition to her bedroom. These are so gorgeous, simple to make, and can be used for a homemade card too!

Super Cute Emoji Paper Plate
Source: Natural Beach Living
Let’s face it, sometimes we have to conform to our little millennials liking a bit, especially if we want to engage them in things other than staring at the tv, iPad, computer, or cell phone
So here it is… the emoji paper plate craft!
I let my kids pick the emoji they wanted to make right from my cell phone and then we started creating. This craft can be used for anything from a Halloween costume to an emoji themed party or fun activity
My kids loved this one a lot more than I did, but we will be making more emojis soon!
Paper Plate Mask
Source: Life is Sweeter By Design
My kids loved this paper plate animal mask craft so much that at one point I honestly found myself saying “can you PLEASE take that mask off when you’re talking to me?”
I mean seriously, I was sick of talking to a little cat for 5 days straight especially because anytime I said something my daughter didn’t want to hear she would start meowing
My goodness… is it Friday yet? ?
But seriously something I loved about this craft was the ability to easily make any type of animal my kids wanted. This has about 5 items needed total, and I can almost guarantee they are all things you have right at home waiting for you!

Paper Plate Pig
Source: Simple Everyday Mom
A wise man once said “never wrestle with a pig… You’ll both get dirty and the pig will like it”
So instead make this adorable paper plate pig and teach your little ones about farms and the animals that inhabit them!
Our family took a trip to our local petting zoo and beforehand I gave a “mommy” lesson on pigs, cows, goats, and chickens. I forgot how amazing farm animals are to kids, and visiting the petting zoo was so fun for all of us together
This pig paper plate craft is easy, cute, and your kids will love it!
This would also be a great school activity because it’s simple enough and doesn’t take much prep beforehand
Paper Plate Rainbow
Source: A Night Owl Blog
With the beginning of March underway, this rainbow paper plate craft is perfect for Spring!
St. Patricks Day is one of my favorite holidays. In the Grand Rapids, Michigan area we have streets shut down for celebration, green beer, loud music, and the joy of Spring radiating throughout the city
Sometimes we are in shorts and T-shirts, other times we wear scarves and winter jackets. No matter the weather we know that bright sunshine is upon us!
We made these rainbow paper plate crafts just in time and my little Casey put it outside because she wanted the leprechaun to be able to find her rainbow, it was adorable!
This paper plate craft is extremely cute, so prepare yourself to hang onto it and don’t be surprised when it’s being used as a fun decoration!

“The rainbow fish shared his scales left and right. And the more he gave away, the more delighted he became”
Have you guys read the Rainbow Fish?! And I mean REALLY read it?

AHH! Do you guys remember making these DIY paper spinners?

We got bad news from Punxsutawney Phil this year…. as if this winter hasn’t been enough, you’re REALLY predicting even more?
I mean seriously, I don’t think this Michigander is going to make it

Source: Easy Peasy and Fun
This is the perfect coloring project for your little fish lover on a rainy day. All you have to do is print the picture, have your little one color it in, and you’ll have a surprise big mouth printable!
There isn’t as much craft to this as there is coloring so it’s an easier idea when you’re not exactly in the mood to sit down and help through the whole thing
We all have those days, and a craft like this will save us!
Paper Fan Watermelon

This DIY paper fan is one in a “melon!”
Nothing screams summer vibes quite like a watermelon, and this fan is easy and cute
You could use this to give to your little one as you head to the beach, as part of a summer party theme, or as a craft to make before the kids leave school for the summer to set the mood right
Casey came home with one of these after school one day and that weekend we went to the beach. She carried it around in her watermelon dress and looked as if she was right out of an adorable summer magazine!
The Snail and the Whale Movable Paper Plate

If you haven’t had a chance to read “The Snail and the Whale” by Julia Donaldson I strongly suggest purchasing and doing so ASAP!
The short story book tells the tale of a whale and snail that travel the world together
It’s a big and happening book out there in mommy land right now! If you have read it and love it like my kids and I do, this is the craft for you! It’s made from a paper plate so it’s super easy and fun to do

Paper Plate Cat Craft
Source: I Heart Crafty Things
Crazy cat lady alert! Me, I’m the crazy cat lady…
I know I have two kids that I love to talk about, but I have two “other” children in my life who mean the world to me. If I could, I would have 27…
Now, I understand this is hoarding and I can’t do this, so I settle for two ?
But having kids has taught me that they love cats EVEN more than I do. One of Casey’s first words was meow. I think she may have said it before “dada” but we don’t tell him that ;).
This DIY paper plate cat is easy to make and if you have a little kitty at home of your own you can customize the color to best fit. Both of my cats are grey, so we went with that. This project is fun, and your kids will love it!

As soon as I saw this I knew we had to make it because it matches my daughter’s bedroom theme perfectly
A dreamcatcher is a classic, and sometimes when my little Casey has trouble falling asleep or is scared to fall asleep I remind her that her dream catcher that we made together is right there catching all of her bad dreams thoughts so she can sleep soundly
Pretend Play Food Paper Pizza
Source: Artsy Craftsy Mom
<3 is shaped like pizza for a reason, right?
This pizza craft may look like experts work, but it has only 5 items needed to make and it’s really quite simple!
I’m not sure if my kids or I like pizza more, but we equally loved this project. You can choose your own toppings to make and really tailor it to the kind of pizza you eat together at home

Positive Paper Fortune Cookies
Source: Six Time Mommy
This is a MOMMY craft, and I am absolutely obsessed with it!
Last month Casey came home from school and she innocently asked me “mommy why don’t you leave notes in my lunchbox like Rachel’s mommy does?”
I’m not sure why, but this got me all hot and bothered and feeling essentially…. guilty? Like I wasn’t doing enough
I think we all as moms feel this way at times, comparing ourselves to somebody else. Instead of feeling sorry for myself I reminded myself I make my daughters lunch almost every day, take her to school every morning, and love her more than anything and started feeding myself positivity
I decided to search “gifts for kids for lunchboxes” and stumbled upon these fortune cookies
Fast forward to now and my little Casey gets one fortune cookie a week, and I surprise her on whatever day of the week I want
The tutorial will give you some good ideas of what to put in the cookie or you can be creative and put your own in ?
3D Heart Mobile
Source: Twitchetts
This 3d spinning rainbow heart is absolutely precious!
My kids love all things rainbow, and this mommy does too. The finished product of this craft is so pretty, and unique and the 3d gives it such a vibrant look
This is one of those projects that looks difficult because of how amazing it turns out, but it really isn’t at all ❤️
Happy Tooth Construction Paper Craft
Source: Fun Learning Life
We loved this Happy Tooth construction paper craft in my house!
Teaching healthy habits is important as we all know, and this giant tooth hangs in my little girl’s bathroom to remind her to brush her teeth (as if I don’t already do it ten times a morning)
I did somehow end up convincing her that if she didn’t brush her teeth then the happy tooth would turn sad, and it seems to really be working
Teach some healthy habits with this happy tooth ?
Paper Bag Monster Puppets
Source: I Heart Crafty Things
These paper bag monster puppets are everything! They are adorable, easy to make, and take no preparation if you already have markers and paper bags on hand

There are plenty of fish in the sea….
But there is only one moving slinky fish craft as awesome as this one! This project is perfect for your crafty little one because after it’s made you can play with it for weeks to come
This is super unique, and fun to make…
We decided we are going to get Casey a goldfish this spring but first she needs to learn all about the fish in the sea. What better way to teach her than to show her?
