Want to start eating more healthy or just want to switch up your smoothie game?!
These acai smoothie recipes will give you the inspiration you need to get started…
Here are the recipes I love:
Acai Powder Smoothie
Source: Food With Feeling
I don’t know about you guys, but for me, an acai smoothie in the morning just hits differently than anything else in the morning
They’re light on my stomach, and the acai / fruit give me the immediate burst of energy that I need while trying to prepare for the day. How do you guys get your acai?
For the longest time I was buying frozen acai packets from the store but after making this recipe I went ahead and bought the acai powder and it is an absolute GAME CHANGER the acai powder results in a very pretty purple smoothie
I’ve found that it even does a great job of hiding greens in a smoothie, and if you’re bringing your smoothie to a public place people just think your green smoothie is gross right off the bat, and I’ll admit that sometimes I have a hard time drinking my own green smoothie even when it’s good just based on the color alone ?
This recipe is simple to make with only four ingredients needed, and extremely healthy. Banana can make a smoothie a no go for me because it overpowers every other flavor, but in this recipe, the banana and the berries mixed together create a fruity taste that I absolutely love
If you’re an acai beginner, or you’re just plain in a rush most mornings but want a yummy smoothie without all of the work and ingredients, this is the one for you!
Anti-Oxidant Smoothie

You will thank me berry much for this antioxidant acai smoothie recipe, trust me…
Raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries are more than tiny, tasty, and tantalizingly colorful. They’re also powerful allies for your health, protecting everything from your head to your heart
Let me throw a couple of facts at you:
Mental Health
Berries keep you mentally sharp! Those who eat about two servings of strawberries or one serving of blueberries a week experienced less mental health decline over time than peers who went without these nutrition powerhouses, research published in the Annals of Neurology found
The same study also states People who eat at least two servings of berries a week have a 25 percent less chance of developing Parkinson’s disease than their peers
Physical Health
Berries fight urinary tract infections and keep weight under control
I mean, I think the reason we are all digging into the acai smoothie trend is for weight control, right?
Because of their fiber and liquid content, berries give us a sense of fullness. I know after I eat a smoothie I feel like I gained about 10 pounds even if I know the calorie content, and it’s low
If you guys have ever had a urinary tract infection, like a bad one, you know it’s worse than childbirth. Cranberries are the berry most closely associated with urinary tract health, but studies show nutrition-dense blueberries seem to be helpful as well
Taste
Berries taste amazing, especially in smoothie form. Enough said ?
I mean, with all of the other benefits and the amazing taste, it’s no secret I would post a recipe containing all the berries. This recipe combines bananas, strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, protein powder, and acai berry powder
Which, if you haven’t had a chance to try acai berry powder it’s the sweetest acai mix I’ve tasted to date and I highly recommend it
The ultimate filling and healthy acai smoothie, how berry awesome!
Oat Berry Acai Smoothie
Source: The Secret Ingredient Is
Oatmeal used to solely remind me of chicken pox. I contracted this bumpy infectious terrible horrible depressing chicken pox at the same time as my three sisters and brother…
So there were FOUR of us, all highly contagiousness at the same time. Bless my parents because they were so patient with all of us but my goodness aren’t chicken pox just the worst?
I got them at age five and I remember everything about it. Some of us block out traumatic events but no way, not me
I vividly remember sitting in the tub surrounded by oatmeal. So it wasn’t until college that I finally tried eating oatmeal. I know, I really missed out
There’s nothing better than maple and brown sugar oatmeal packets with almond milk in the morning, but after trying this recipe I am all about adding them to my smoothies!
If you use the maple and brown sugar steel cut oats like she does you’ll get a brown sugary flavor addition, and if you know how oatmeal works than you know it will thicken your smoothie right up. I personally like my smoothies thicker because I don’t like a “juicy” smoothie; it just doesn’t fill me up
This oat berry acai smoothie is thicker than a bowl of oatmeal, literally! She also uses greek yogurt which is usually used as a thickening additive, and frozen bananas combined with some raspberries, blueberries, and acai
This acai smoothie is oat of this world!

Here’s a fun acai fact for you:
Acai is a dietary staple for people in the Amazonian rainforest regions, has been harvested the same way for centuries. The 60- to 80-foot palm trees are scaled by workers who cut the branches, then slide back down the smooth, slender trunks to the ground
Since acai berries are so low in sugar and acid, which protects most fruits, they must be picked, processed, flash-pasteurized, and frozen quickly before being transported out of the Amazon
If left unprocessed, the fruit will oxidize, turn brown, and lose its beneficial nutrients. I know for me I haven’t looked at acai the same and I always smile when I’m pouring the powder into my smoothie mix
I think it’s awesome that there are so many acai powders to try, but when I was first getting into acai smoothies I actually used Sambazon Original Acai Superfood Juice
This juice is sold at most Meijers (shoutout to the midwest), every whole foods, and you can even get them on Amazon
They are an AMAZING flavorful juice low in sugar and organic. The best part about Sambazon is the flavors aren’t JUST berry. I have bought Chocolate Almond Coconut Milk, Mocha Java, and Acai Berry and Chocolate!
If you’re looking for a way to spice up your smoothies I strongly suggest giving it a try
In this recipe, she uses “The Original” flavor and combines it with frozen bananas, blueberries, and coconut milk. The turnout is creamy, fruity, with a nice hint of banana
This is YUM!
Acai Smoothie Parfait

If you like your smoothies thick and packed with crunchy additions, you’ll die for this acai smoothie chia parfait
If you don’t know what chia seeds are or more importantly “chia pudding” it’s time to jump on the bandwagon right now!
Chia pudding is a mix of chia seeds with liquid, usually any kind of milk. Chia seeds are tiny black seeds that expand up to 9 times their original size. Once you let mixed ingredients sit overnight, they form “pudding”
Overnight chia pudding has a similar consistency to rice pudding, hence the name. If you’ve ever made or heard of overnight oats it’s the same concept, only with a lower calorie chia seed
This takes a little preparation because you have to let the seed and liquid mixture sit overnight, but the consistency is worth the extra work that goes into it!
For the smoothie itself, she uses bananas, protein powder, coconut milk, acai powder, blueberries, and almond butter. UM, YUM!
There’s a choice of toppings she suggests including granola, blueberries, edible flowers, etc… I like that you can customize how you want with what you have
I’m pudding up with what she’s dishing out in this one!

“Travel is the only thing you buy that makes you richer”
My college boyfriend and I spent about 6 months in Thailand because, at the time, we were both able to work from home
We made the jump and decided to pick up and go for it!
If you haven’t had the chance to visit Asia, specifically the ocean areas like Bali and Southern Thailand I strongly suggest doing so. Everything is so cheap, the sights are Instagram worthy, and the SMOOTHIES. ARE. INCREDIBLE.
It’s crazy how different and tart our processed fruit tastes. My favorite fruit went from raspberry to mango on that trip, but only Asian mango
The color is completely different, the texture is much squishier and softer, and the taste is sweeter
This power mango acai smoothie is the perfect summertime breakfast smoothie. The best part about it is that while the acai is tart, the mango is perfectly sweet
They are basically made for each other and don’t even know it. This smoothie combines the best of both worlds with a little taste of Thailand twist!
I highly recommend Thailand, but if you can’t get there right away at least start with this acai smoothie!
Green Acai Smoothie

So, I have a really strange 7 year old son lol…
I could give you a whole novel of things that make him a certified weirdo, but one of his quirky qualities is liking smoothies. But not just any smoothie, he only wants “gween smoothies”
I have to admit I probably have something to do with green smoothie situation. After my daughter was born I was motivated, and I mean, really motivated, to drop the baby weight
I hated the way my body looked, and that little girl really did a number on any abdominal muscles I had left, if any. So I went on a full on green smoothie kick because I thought it really doesn’t get any healthier than a bunch of spinach inside my smoothie, right?
My son loved taking sips of my smoothie, and now he will seriously only drink a smoothie if it’s green…You better believe I have green food coloring on hand like the con artist I am
As far as green smoothies go, this is the one to try
This acai green smoothie recipe was the first time I had ever put avocado in my smoothie, and the hype is REAL!
The creamy consistency makes for the perfect consistency and the healthy fats make me feel full. That combined with banana, cashews (also a first time cashew smoothie adder in this recipe), and honey makes the perfect sweet green smoothie that tastes nothing like the ones I was forcing down that my son weirdly enjoys
She uses packs of sambazon acai juice but frozen. If you’re not an everyday smoothie drinker I highly recommend these frozen packets because you can take them out of the freezer and pop them into your smoothie at any time
You can get them at Target or Walmart, and I’m assuming any health store too, and they are less than 6 dollars. My son and I are green machines and we love it!

If you’ve been reading my posts for a while then you know my nephew suffers from some serious allergy issues…
He is allergic to most meats, gluten, and dairy. I have watched my sister and her husband take on this challenge with positive hearts, motivating attitudes, and an extreme amount of patience and practice with recipe’s
They have paved the way for me to always do my best to include a gluten-free recipe in all of my posts but not just any gluten-free recipe. I will experiment with several until I find one that is just as good as originals, and one that EVERYONE will enjoy with the gluten sensitive loved one in their life
So what makes this recipe the chosen one?
Definitely the use of cacao nibs. Have you had them?
Cacao Nibs are rich in magnesium, which is something most of us need more of. They are also loaded with antioxidants and are especially good for you adrenal health because they help to reduce cortisol production
They are not as sweet as chocolate chips and have an espresso-like flavor, however, they do come out somewhat chocolatey tasting in a smoothie
This combined with acai powder, banana, cashew milk, matcha, and strawberries makes for a delicious darkness of flavor! Plus, it’s vegan and gluten-free
This one matcha me crazy!

I know I’ve ranted about my trip to Thailand more times than you or I can count, but I learned so much while I was there and I’m just trying to spread the love and education!
I swear Thai people have the secret to staying young, being healthy, and making their smoothies the best in the WORLD
Their best kept secret?
Coconut Water
I know it’s sold here too but they have so many different kinds, and it’s cheap as chips over there so it doesn’t put such a dent in your pocket
I love coconut water as a base for smoothies because it’s thin, super light, and has a sweet yet earthy taste. And don’t even get me started on the BENEFITS of this coocoo nutty water
Low in calories, naturally free of fat and cholesterol, more potassium than four bananas, and super hydrating… these are just a few of the many benefits that coconut water brings you
This powerhouse recipe only contains four ingredients: Banana, coconut water, blueberries, and acai
It’s extremely filling, hydrating, and overall it just tastes amazing. Some athletes swear by coconut water so I like to have it right after a workout to help replenish my muscles before I head to work
This will make you coconuts! ?
Purple Power Superfood Smoothie
Source: Fit Mitten Kitchen
Achieve grapeness with this purple powerhouse smoothie!
Okay, so there aren’t actually any grapes used in this recipe but the pretty purple color that comes out in this smoothie is just simply grape gorgeous, and the taste is to die for too!
The best part about this acai smoothie recipe is that it’s just simple, quick, and gets the healthy tasty job done. Cherries, strawberries, blueberries, acai powder, and liquid of choice. And voila!
You have a superfood filled morning with not much preparation, and hardly any ingredients
Plus, if you wanted to switch out a fruit and customize to what you have on hand this is such a sweet recipe that it would be easy to do
I’ll use this recipe when I’m in a pinch or am having a busy week and I don’t get sick of it. Absolute yum!
