Looking to set up a habit tracker in your own bullet journal? Well, you’re in luck!
It doesn’t matter if you’re just starting your bullet journaling journey or a seasoned vet looking to add a new tracker… these awesome ideas will help get you started
(just want the examples? go to #3 in the table of contents!)
What Is A Habit Tracker?
In the most basic sense, a Habit Tracker is just a way to get an overview of any task you want to hold yourself accountable to
I’ve found that it really helps me stick to my goals and reinforces / creates the habits I want to have
For example, I track my daily gym routine and now I absolutely hate when I miss a day. As I’m sure you’re the same, crossing off that day or task is so satisfying
Habit Tracker Setup
While you can get as simple or complex with your habit tracker as you want, here is a basic overview of how to set things up
Monthly or Weekly
First, you should choose whether you want to track your habits on a weekly or daily basis…
For me, I find that tracking things over the entire month gives me a way better idea of how I’m doing with each individual task
But with anything bujo related, its really just want works best for you!
Things To Track
Just like I mentioned above, this is completely up to you and what works best. I personally track things that I’m struggling with or trying to improve on
Here are some ideas of what to track:
- Gym Routine / Exercise
- Reading
- Cleaning
- Posting to Social Media / Not Posting lol
- Spending / Not Spending Money
- Eating / Drinking Water
- Studying
- Journaling ?
And those are just a few ideas to get you started. Track whatever means the most to you!
Habit Tracker Inspiration
Last but not least is the actual layout of your tracker…
For that, I’ve found some awesome examples to get your creative juices flowing and one step closer to creating those habits!
Here are some adorable ones I love:
Simple Icons

Habit trackers are so fun!
When looking at all things bullet journal to customize my bujo I stumbled across this habit tracker icon key and it was a game changer for me
I always used stickers before to track my own personal habits, unknowing that drawn habit trackers were a thing
To be honest, they looked kind of tacky. My favorite habits on this page that I use every day are the laundry, workout, and water intake symbols
This has been my inspirational for forming my own habit tracker key!
Black & White

This is a gorgeous habit tracker!
The flower drawing at the top is absolutely stunning, and the shading she uses for her water, no spend, clean sink, bullet journal, read, and exercise habit trackers are very uniquely set up
This gave me a lot of inspiration for starting a tracker for housework specifically. Very motivating
3D Tracker
A perspective grid leading to a cookie? YES PLEASE!
This is so incredibly unique, and the 3d is something so professionally drawn that it looks like it could be on the cover of something
I love how the cookie is the only thing colored to really give it that extra pop of color but keep it clean as well. At the end of the month, I’m sure it looks even better
Has anyone else tried something like this!?
Color By Habits

There are so many things I love about this habit tracker
First off, the design. Her handwriting is remarkably gorgeous and unique and the tracker itself is a giant piece of art. She colors in the symbols that almost look a fish, and there is another circle in the center that she colors in if she does something two days in a row
I like the idea of coloring and not just marking things off because it’s proven to be de-stressing to color
Something else that catches my eye about this one is that out of her 5 habits “window” is one of them
I can assume she tries to take time every day to look out the window and I can see myself working on doing this and reflecting back on the day and all that I am thankful for. This is so inspirational!
Minimalist Tracker

If you are somebody that wants to keep it clean, simple, and organized, this is a great habit tracker for you…
This is a minimal, yet beautiful spread with small lettering and cute handwriting fitting a black and white theme. Something unique is her graph at the bottom to track her nicotine habit
I don’t smoke but I do quite often drink and I have never thought to graph it out like that but it’s an awesome idea. I love this one!
Fall Habit Tracker
Photo credit: Lil’ Brown Journal on Instagram
This habit tracker for the month of October screams fall is in the air, and I can’t get enough of it
Being a Michigan girl has lead me to appreciate fall so much to the point that it is my absolute favorite season
This artist has 6 habits she is keeping track of breakfast, college, IG posts, journal, vitamins, iron meds. Each one of them is followed by a box colored in matching the different colors that the leaves make while changing colors
There is so much color to this tracker, and it’s so stunning. This definitely gives me inspiration for my October tracker this year
Pixel Habit Tracker

How unbelievably colorful is this habit tracker?
The first thing I noticed about this one, aside from the fact that the unicorn colors just pop from the page, is the fact that one of her habits is drinking 4L of water
I mean wow, I’m lucky if I get my 34 oz in a day so obviously water intake needs to be on next months habit tracker
I love the little rainbow dots at the top of this, and the fact that the tracker takes up the entire page. It’s so pretty!
Easy Tracker
Photo credit: Plans & Letters on Instagram
Although this is one of the more simply designed habit trackers, when you really look at it there is a lot going on
There are 13 habits to keep track of, and then on the bottom of the page there are three more main habits including sleep, mood, and something she has covered up
I love the highlighted blue writing at the top, and the pretty vase of flowers drawn. She keeps track of being kind in one of her thirteen habits and it was an inspiration for me to do the same
Simple and organized, I love it!
X Marks The Spot
This artist absolutely nails the lettering in this habit tracker, and the gorgeous pink color reminds me of summer
This is the first tracker I’ve seen with so many habits and a key on the same page as the actual habit tracker itself. She uses letters A-Z, each letter with a different goal or habit she is keeping track of
It seems like a lot to keep track of, but the key is extremely simple and easy to quickly find exactly what is what
It’s really hard for me to draw trackers with as much going on as this one, but she somehow makes it look so organized!
What do you think about keeping track of that many habits?
Panda Tracker
You guys… The squishy cute panda is literally climbing up the tracker in this spread!
I can’t believe how neatly drawn all of the numerous art in this habit tracker is, while still being so organized at the same time
The goal of drawing an animal is to make it as chubby, squishy, and fluffy as you can. That is something I learned so early on that she has absolutely mastered in this piece
Plus, there is a pile of bamboo to the right of the page and it’s adorable. Everything about this is precious
If you love pandas this is the inspiration you need, and if you don’t… you probably will after seeing this!
Bumble Bee Habit Tracker
Photo credit: Bujo With Mel on Instagram
This bee themed tracker is so innovative, I love the setup!
She has five main habits including No spend, yoga, clean, workout, face. Every time she completes one of these tasks she draws a little hex
The visual turns out looking like a bunch of little pots of honeycombs. It’s extremely creative, and although it turns out so complex and awesome looking, there really isn’t much to it
I will definitely be using this as inspiration in one of my summer month trackers!

“Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you’ll land amongst the stars” – Les Brown
I love a good star/galaxy/universe theme ?
Back in college, I used a complete space theme all year long. I definitely wish I would have stumbled upon this star themed inspiration sooner because it is so awesome!
The tracker itself is so neat and bolded with the black and gold theme, and I love the star art surrounding the headed “habits” at the top.
I will definitely be keeping this in mind for my next month’s tracker!
Green Tracker
Photo credit: Lucía Arcos on Instagram
This green leaf themed habit tracker is so sleek!
This artist has seven main habits to track and each one has it’s own little calendar incorporated. There are also gorgeous leaves drawn throughout the bottom of the page
When I see this, I picture the perfect tracker for summer
Very organized, I love it!
When Life Hands You Lemons
Photo credit: Rachel Doan on Instagram
This habit and mood tracker is bright, gorgeous, and just flat out perfection
Not only is the bundle of lemons at the top drawn so gracefully and stunning, but the mood tracker is SO unique!
She uses a pinwheel and then has little lemons in different shades as a key, the bluer the lemon, the bluer her mood and vice versa with yellow. She then shades the color in each day
I have never seen a more uniquely drawn tracker, and I am just in love with this!
Fill The Jars
Have you guys ever tracked your habits for the month without actually using dates? This is so unique!
She has empty flower jars for 6 different habits and then draws a flower inside a jar every time she does something. It’s so clean, organized, and such a pretty and unique idea
By the end of the month, I’m sure she will have so many flowers in her jars!
My workout jar would, unfortunately, be empty…
Fill In The Dot

I love the idea of a vertical layout for a habit tracker!
The composition of this is gorgeous, and it’s set up so organized. The incorporation of the leaves and the black and white layout give it such a sleek feel
If you’re not as artistically inclined this is a good one because she has circles drawn and when she completes a task, like a “quick workout” she just makes the circle a little darker and bigger
Great idea!
Colored Coded Tracker
Here’s another vertical tracker with a more colorful approach. This is a great spread, and I love how the tracker takes up the whole page!
She has squares that she fills in with different colors when she completes a task so I’d imagine at the end of the month this will be a very colorful tracker
I also love mood tracking, and she incorporates that on her spread as well. Very inspirational!
Gray Tracker

I love the look of these drawn in habit trackers ?️
This is another simple yet sleek look with 6 difference habits to track that she draws in with boxes after she completes one. She has amazing cursive handwriting that is going to give me inspiration for my next spread
I love this one!
Party Time
This is by FAR the best habit tracker theme for a birthday month that I have ever seen
This is pink themed with a 3d look and awesome lettering. She has a horse balloon at the top gorgeously drawn, and the page is covered by little remnants of balloons
I love how she draws boxes when she completes one of her main habits too, it’s very organized and neat. If you have a birthday or anything to celebrate this month than this is the perfect tracker to inspire you!
Plain & Simple
Photo credit: Look Bullet on Instagram
I love how neat and distinct this tracker is, it legitimately looks like something you could buy at your nearest OfficeMax and use in the workplace!
This is great for those of you who are more minimalist when keeping track, or for those who have enough going on in the rest of the journal itself and want something simple yet sleek for the tracker
My handwriting is not neat enough for this, but I sure wish it was!
Glow Up
Have you guys heard of the term “glow up?”
You may have heard someone tell a friend “way to glow up girl!” when somebody is getting ready to go out
Well, if you’re wondering what it means, glowing up is more than just coming to your looks. It’s about your attitude and your self-worth and to be who you want to be without caring what others think
That’s why I love this glow up themed habit tracker so much!
The glow in the dark colors with the drawn stars and the bright green theme match the meaning and it’s extremely unique. The set up is also neat and organized, and she has even drawn a small calendar on the side
Very inspirational!
